Beginner Still Life Drawing - Sun - 10am

Service Description

Biweekly Sundays, from 10:00am - 11:30am Ongoing, All Ages In this class, you will practice drawing tones and shapes using vine charcoal, newsprint, and drawing paper. With the collaborative still life as reference (which each student may bring one object to contribute to), we will learn about setting up good compositions on a flat surface, and review optimal work area set-up using an easel. Each lesson will also focus on a unique topic, including but not limited to: white objects, cubes, spheres, reflective objects, plants, music themed objects, books, food, mystic themed objects. As a group, we will learn from each other by sharing our work and discussing our challenges in brief critique. Practiced and skilled artist, Aryssa Hutchins, will be your guide in this beginner-friendly drawing class. These still life drawing studies create muscle memory to more accurately draw objects without reference, allowing for an easier creative flow; practice makes progress! Please bring the following with you: -Newsprint -Drawing paper -Soft vine charcoal -Kneaded eraser -An object to use in the still life (optional) While we encourage you to purchase and bring your own materials to class (as it means you'll be able to practice outside of class with familiar tools), we always keep extra supplies on hand just in case! All other supplies will be provided.
