Family Clay Night, Ages 8+, Fri 6pm

Service Description

Ongoing: Fridays, 6:00pm - 8:00pm Ages 8-Adult (Parents welcome!) This ongoing class is designed for entry-level and experienced students alike, looking for more practice time on the pottery wheel. Experienced clay instructor, Casey Gurr, will offer guided, small-group instruction for anyone interested in learning the basics of throwing on the pottery wheel. More advanced students are welcome to use this time to practice what they already know and try new tricks! After creating about 1-3 pieces, we will dry and fire their pieces for them. Most pieces are ready for pickup in 2-3 weeks. Ceramics teach a number of valuable skills, including perseverance, patience, problem solving, and creativity! Bring your kiddos in to come play on the clay wheel and learn how to use this fun tool to create functional and decorative pieces, or join in on the fun and make some ceramic pieces of your own! Your reservation includes access to: - Guidance, if needed - Tools/wheels/glazes - Kiln firing Clay may be brought, or purchased from our website or in the studio (5lbs for $7 or 25lbs for $25 plus tax). Please bring with you: - Clothes that can get dirty, and/or an apron Cat Clay Studio Notes & Agreements: *Trimming, glazing or underglazing cannot be done on pottery pieces that have just been made; please plan on booking another session to complete any trimming or glazing. *Pre-registration for our clay offerings is a requirement. Showing up without registering through our website does not guarantee you a spot, and means you may be turned away. *Long nails are not recommended for this activity Scholarships are available for those who otherwise would not be able to attend our classes, thanks to generous donations to our Art Start Fund.
