Service Description

One-day workshops: Saturday, December 7, 1:00pm - 5:00pm Ages 10+ This wheel-throwing workshop is perfect for beginning to intermediate-level students who are ready to learn how to go beyond cups and bowls. Through guided and self directed instruction, students will learn techniques like pulling tall and large forms, adding handles, trimming feet, techniques for plates, donuts, stacking forms, distorting, and lots of decorating techniques. Taking this workshop multiple times means you'll learn even more techniques! Professional artist and experienced educator, Casey Gurr, will be your guide. Students will need to return afterwards to pick up fired art work. Please bring with you: - Clothes that can get dirty, and/or an apron **Long nails are not recommended for this activity Optional: - Water in container with spill-proof lid - Layered clothing Your reservation includes access to tools/wheels/glazes, guidance (if needed), kiln firing, and shelf space in our studio, but you are responsible for your own clay, which may be purchased from our website or in the studio ($7 for 5lbs or $22 for 25lbs plus tax). Scholarships for this and all of our other classes are available for those who otherwise would not be able to attend art classes, thanks to generous donations to our Art Start Fund.
